Carpal and Cubital Tunnel Syndrome

Cubital tunnel syndrome happens when the ulnar nerve, which passes through the cubital tunnel (a tunnel of muscle, ligament, and bone) on the inside of the elbow, becomes inflamed, swollen, and irritated.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Is the most common compression neuropathy of the hand. Symptoms include pain and numbness in hand and difficulty performing routine activities.

Treatment consistent with anti-inflammatory medications and splinting at night and surgery is reserved for patients who failed to respond to conservative management.

Carpal tunnel release can be performed in the office under local anesthesia by WALANT technique. Surgery takes 30 minutes to perform and no need for hospital admission or general anesthesia. Recovery takes 7-10 days before returning to work.
